Objectives of the course Learning outcomes A student’s assessments methods
The aim of the course is to study the "social dimension" of European integration, the process of creating a single social space in Europe, the close relationship between economic and social integration. Students will be able to analyze documents concerning EU social policy; to conduct a comparative analysis of national social welfare systems and to assess their compliance with pan-European principles; to understand the peculiarities of EU communitarian social policy. Course unit content Course objective – The course focuses on the main stages of a single EU social policy; key documents framing the content of social policy; the mechanism for the implementation of social policy; the problems and prospects of social integration. Gained knowledge and skills: Students will be able to analyze documents concerning EU social policy; to conduct a comparative analysis of national social welfare systems and to assess their compliance with pan-European principles; to understand the peculiarities of EU communitarian social policy.
